Treatment of Terrorists “Detainees” at Guantanamo

Seems there is a great deal of concern about the use of torture to gather intelligence information from war criminals.  The concern is based on ethic, moral, human rights, and the decent treatment of human beings and rules of the    Our nation has also become very familiar with the term “collateral damage”.Collateral Damage is the“clinically sterile”phrase used to describe murdering and maiming women, children and all innocent people as a by-product of targeting and booming the enemy forces.  Children that lose mothers or their eyesight or both or mothers who lose an arm or their child or both.   Orphans and mutilated bodies and blood and screams and tears and lives destroyed.  

The citizens of this country know what Collateral Damage is, but seem to simply accept it as an unfortunate part of warfare.

Why do these same Americans have great concerns about the use of torture on fanatics that celebrate collateral damage?

Why is there not equal concern for collateral damage?
