The fact that ancient myths have poisoned the human mind is an unbelievable disaster for mankind. Religious dogma and creed is the center piece of hatred and conflict. This is my view on this issue of very sad reality. I do not claim to know absolute truth. I do claim to have the gift of doubt, reasoning and complete and total freedom to experience reality in my own way with my own mind.
About two thousand years ago, a collection of varying people began to write about what absolute truth is and claimed to be all knowing due to their direct contact with the supernatural, often referred to as God. It was accepted as absolute truth because the masses of people at that time were desperate for a feeling of security and hope and intellectuals with the skill of writing were viewed as admired sources of wisdom. At this point in human history, the human mind understood very little about the substance of the world. No understanding of lightning and thunder. No concept of gravity or orbiting spheres. Over time the human creature had created mythological stories to explain these wonders and provide comfort from the unknown. Once documented and canonized, those writings were declared the absolute truth and were sealed and never can those words be disputed. The Bible is the word and the only true word. Absolute Truth was sealed, never to be questioned, 2,000 years ago.
A few centuries later, a man named Mohammed formulated another written work of words known as the Koran. The followers of Islam only accept that book as the absolute truth. For Muslims, the Koran is the single and sole truth. Adherence to the words of the Koran is the only path to HEAVEN.
At very young ages, the majority of the offspring of humans are programmed with continuous information on what they must believe. This is done when these children have not developed the cognitive skills and reasoning necessary to formulate some truths on their own. The concept of being born with “original sin” is cruel. This is a traumatic beginning of life’s journey that can last a lifetime. I reject this action of tyranny. I raised my children with a strong sense of values and a firm conviction of right and wrong. The consequence of HELL and the promise of HEAVEN were NOT part of their behavioral conditioning. I believe all humans are born with and possess goodness, dignity and worth. They grew to know and understand my spiritual nature of connection with the world and my curiosity of the unknown. I left them to their own ability to reason on matters of mythology and supernatural existence. The threat of HELL to enforce the concept of right and wrong is an absolutely brutal brain-wash. Nurturing the innate inner sense of good and evil does not require terrifying fairy tales.
As this planet floats through space, I yearn for the awakening and spiritual healing that are required for the human creature to exist in harmony, understanding, compassion and the aligned focus that is needed to create a refreshing and exciting vision for the future of the Earth and mankind.
